How to Hack P1Wimax

Posted by Elvin on January 20, 2010

Since the University is providing bad wifi services, most of the students applied for broadbands in order to online in their rooms. Especially after the Potong Session, many new p1 user started to appear. P1 users will have a modem which comes with a wireless adapter after they applied for packages. For some people, they tried to hack into other’s P1 network and get internet access for free.

In this post, I’m not going to teach you how to hack into those P1 networks, but I will be giving you hints on how to hack into P1 networks. As you can see in the image, the red frame with weird combination of numbers and alphabets are actually the default network names for P1’s wireless adapter which comes with the modem. By default, the WEP passwords are actually almost the same as the network names. For example, 0810DE network, the pass will be 810DEXXXXX, the XXXXX will be the thing you need to add in at the back. I won’t reveal what’s the thing to add but it’s the same for all P1 default passwords.

Anyway, you can also hack into home networks if they are using wireless modems. Some of the users do not know how to change the passwords for the modem leaving the default name and password there. Therefore, if you see some names like within the orange frame, you can enter into their network using default passwords of different brands.

Actually, I’m not teaching you how to hack into networks but trying to give awareness. Users should try to configure their networks and change their default passwords. If you do not know how, try to lookup to the manual book. If it’s gone, you can always lookup onto the internet for info. Good luck!

Blink Screen Technology

Posted by Elvin on January 19, 2010

I’m using Dell Inspiron 1420 and it has the blink screen technology which I’m not proud of it. The screen blinking problem started a few months after the warranty expired. I thought it would be expensive if I send the laptop for check ups, that is why I did not do so ( Yes, I’m a cheap ass). What adds up the fire is the attitude of the laptop, it ONLY blinks when I need to study for exams and stop blinking right after the exam ends.

I’ve searched for solutions to fix the problem. I found a few reasons causing the screen to blink like dat. Reasons such as graphic card error, cable error and OS error, but none was it. I met with this technician and he told me that it was most probably caused by the battery. Yes, my battery life span has almost reach the limit but I tried starting the laptop without the battery attached to it, it blinks too, so as my eyes.

So, what was the cause for the blinking to happen?

Hacker Attacks

Posted by Elvin on January 3, 2010

During the afternoon, me and my friends spotted this stranger using his laptop at our hostel kitchen, which is the nearest place to our wireless router. In hostels, it’s actually normal to have strangers online everywhere but in our case, it’s weird. You see, only me and my friends live on that area and no one other than us use the toilet or the kitchen except for the auntie who cleans it.

We kinda notice he was trying to hack into our network. We take turns to peak into what he was doing. After 20 minutes, the guy left the kitchen. Things aren’t changed and the internet speed was ok after that.

Anyway, hacking into our network was like kinda stupid thing to do? Although wireless sniffing was easy and undetectable in our side, but we setup mac filtering, and putting you-cant-guess password. It wasn’t easy though. So guys, if you are having a wireless network at home, do try to setup mac filtering, having long and stupid and mixed passwords. If you thought no one is there to hack into your network, you are wrong, you never know. Try to impose all the basic steps to protect your network, it’s good for you. Good luck!
